I can change the settings but no buttons appear on my pages whatsoever. Moving on to try other plugins (shareaholic works).

I’m having the same problem. Go through the settings easily but not social buttons appear anywhere on my site.

Be sure to mark the plugin to appear under “Display Pages for Social Share Buttons”. I forget to do this sometimes.
