Breadcrumb – Primar-term not working

    Hello
    Since around Version 8.1 the breadcrumb function does not longer support the possiblity to select a primary term for the yoast breadcrumb when used with the EDD (Easy Digital Download) plugin.

    I use the download category to create the breadcrumb. This still works, but when I can click on “make primary” next to a selected download category nothing happens.

    The yoast plugin then uses the first available download category to build the breadcrumb.

    Can anyone help with this issue?

    Please provide the answers to the following:

    1. Have you performed a conflict check? If not, please do so. Did you discover a conflict?
    2. Does the issue occur when using a default theme with only Yoast SEO and the base EDD plugin (no add-ons) active?
    3. Does the issue occur with the current version of WordPress?
    4. Does the issue occur with the current version of Yoast SEO?

    I have used the conflict check and only activated the newest EDD Plugin (2.9.8) as well as the newest YOAST Plugin (9.2.1). The problem still exists, it is not possible to select a primary download category for a single download.

    I don’t see where the theme could be the problem since it worked perfectly up to YOAST version 8.1.

    I was unable to reproduce this issue in a test environment with EDD 2.9.8, Yoast SEO 9.2.1 on the Twenty Seventeen theme.

    1. Is the ‘Download’ taxonomy breadcrumb option set to ‘Download category’? Admin > SEO > Search Appearance > Breadcrumbs (tab)
    2. When you click ‘Make primary’ next to a category, does the ‘Make primary’ change to ‘Primary’?
    3. Does the shortcode [wpseo_breadcrumb] display the primary category correctly?
