In “Advanced Card Processing” I don’t see any way in the settings to allow the customer to choose the brand (Visa, MasterCard…) of their bank card (European obligation). How can I enable this feature please?
Could you please provide more details about your use case, and how it relates to the EU obligations you mentioned?
At the moment, our plugin supports two primary functions concerning card types: the ability to remove specific card types from the selection process and the option to display the logos of card brands like Visa, MasterCard, etc.
The use case is simple, when the customer has entered his bank card number, he must be able to choose or change the brand of the card he wishes to use.
After looking into it, I found that co-badged cards are indeed subject to specific regulations. While I’m currently unsure about PayPal’s compliance with these regulations, rest assured, we’ll take this up with PayPal directly.
As soon as we gain clarity on PayPal’s stance and the possibility of integrating this feature into the plugin, we’ll be sure to inform you and consider the necessary steps for implementation.
Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention.
I discussed this issue with our team, and it turns out that PayPal is responsible for providing the card payment fields and detecting card types. Since we don’t have control over this, it would be best to reach out to PayPal Merchant Support for assistance with this request.
Kind regards, Krystian
