In all other websites I’m testing it, it seems to work well. On your website, if I double click on the slider, I get the message “ALERT: Unavailable”, the same that I get when I double click on images: it seems that your copy protection plugin interferes with the slider functionality (it probably didn’t anticipate an input element inside a shadow DOM).
Yes, indeed, to prevent copying or downloading I was testing the plugin WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click. The idea was to protect only some images, but the plugin, at least in its free version, applies generally to all images and content, and you can’t choose which specific elements it should be active on.
I had already noticed that it was somehow affecting Simple Ebook Reader, as the protection message would sometimes pop up, but since the reader was working fine in every other respect, when I noticed the problem with the slidebar, I didn’t think it was related to the content protection plugin.
So, question answered and problem solved. And I’ve deactivated the protection plugin because the owner of the images I wanted to protect has agreed to put them into the public domain.
Once again, thank you very much for your quick and kind response.
