when u open the page, again, u see the font i want for a quick moment. but then it changes to the old one.

Gawd! It’s this cufon thing again!

Your page looks OK to me. But it looked OK to me with your other query about accented characters.

Just out of interest, what version of cufon are you using and what browser?

i have no idea at all what cufon…i am a beginner and i am “forced” to build a homepage. they really want that boldy theme.

i just do not understand this cufon stuff πŸ™

The theme uses cufon for its fonts.

The reason I asked about the cufon version and your browser and version is that cufon prior to 1.9i is not compatible with IE9. If you are using IE9 with cufon < 1.9i it might explain why you see problems where I don’t.

If this does look likely to be the cause or a contributory factor, your only recourse, I suspect, will be to contact the theme’s authors asking them to upgrade cufon to 1.9i or later.

If that’s not the problem, the theme’s authors might still be the best place to get reliable help. You may have to pay, of course, but if you really need the theme that should be OK, I would have thought.

ok, but i dont understand how to get cufon or whatever. how can i install it?

    http://cufon.shoqolate.com/js/cufon-yui.js?v=1.09i

In theory, you should just be able to replace the existing cufon-yui.js file with the new one, but you’ll be taking a risk. You can find cufon-yui.js at:

    your-document-root/your-wp-root/wp-content/themes/boldy/js/cufon-yui.js

I have to say that, not knowing exactly how your theme interacts with cufon-yui.js, I can’t guarantee that doing this won’t break something else. In theory you could try it and just put the old file back if it doesn’t work.

This is really something the theme author should be doing, if it’s necessary at all. Only the theme author would know.

ok, thanks…maybe i’ll talk to an IT guy tomorrow. cause i have no clue πŸ˜‰
but THANKS A LOT for all your help!!!

    No problem. Best of luck.

If you do get a resolution, it would be great if you could let us know so that we can help any other people who get similar issues.

I also note that alchymyth has seen a possible way in which you can configure your theme not to use cufon: although, as (s)he notes, you might then have to do other things to get the fonts and font styles you like.
