Hi there,
Do you have a page in your Trash folder called Blog?
If so, delete it permanently and you should be able to change the slug.
I don’t. Just All and Published. Anything else I can do/check? Thanks.
Seems you’ve uploaded an image with the slug /blog/. Delete/rename it and you’ll be fine.
@growthfyre I notice that there is already a page http://judychristie.com/blog/ which have used the slug /blog and the slug is unique. Please delete the page http://judychristie.com/blog/ and rename the /blog-2 to /blog.
Sampression, I did think of that, but I cannot find that page. I looked under Pages. It does look like a template page. Is there anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks.
Webblish, your solution allowed me to change the URL from blog-2 to blog. Thanks a lot.
But now there’s this problem: http://judychristie.com/blog does not go to the blog, but to an error page.
How do I make http://judychristie.com/blog the blog page?
Thanks.
PS: The blog content is being redirected from a WordPress.com account, using their Site Redirect service.
Hi @growthfyre,
Seems like you need to set the page “blog” as post page from reading.
Please check the screenshot for detail – http://screencast.com/t/ZPtMYO21
Thanks,
Sampression
Now the Blog tab in the navigation goes to http://judychristie.com/blog, like it should. But that page is not the redirected WordPress.com blog — just an error page.
How can I get http://judychristie.com/blog show the blog content?
Currently, http://judychristie.com/blog-2 shows the blog posts. I want http://judychristie.com/blog to do that job.
Hope I have been clear enough.
Thank you for your time and help.
Sampression, Posts page Reading Settings was already “blog.” Please read the information above. Hopefully that will shed some more light on the issue. Thanks.
I could redirect http://judychristie.com/blog to http://judychristie.com/blog-2, but I’d rather not do that, especially for the Blog page.
Is there some setting inside WordPress.com that needs to be changed (since the blog is being redirected from there)?
@ GrowthFyre, seems like you still need to change the slug fo the page from “blog-2” to “blog” and that should be fixed.
@ GrowthFyre Not sure if you can setup a test user on your admin and send the details to themes@sampression.com and we can have a look at that for you.
hi
you need to go to the blog page and edit the permalink
I did change the slug successfully, but that page (http://judychristie.com/blog) goes nowhere.
While http://judychristie.com/blog-2 still shows the right content.
