Blog Problems and Lightbox
-
Good day guys…
I am currently running a photography website with a premium paid for theme called Photorific. Due to the lack of support from the theme creator, I am hoping you guys can help me out with a few issues I have. I am a very junior developer and have only started recently with this website (3 days its live now).
Visitors have raised the following 2 issues that are of great concern right now:
1. My blog is set up through a shortcode embedded in the theme. When I post to the blog, and there is more than one article, I find that the ENTIRE blog entries are shown. Even after i put in a “read more” tag. I need the entries to show an excerpt and then link to read more. This is the response I got from the theme creator:“I’m sorry but this theme does not have that feature. You’ll need to set it up yourself, you can learn more about it here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt“
Now, the wordpress documentation isnt clear and neither is the creator, on where exactly to place WHAT code to ensure I get the results. Please help me?
2. If you head over to the portfolio, or any individual portfolio, you will be able to click on an image and it will open a lightbox “thingy” with the full size image. In order to view another picture you have to close the lightbox and then select another image. I need to ensure navigation using either arrow buttons on the left and right or by the user pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard. Any ideas or links as to how to do this?

I appreciate the help!
