Blog posts link to 'Not Found' when opened

I created a blog in an existing word press site a couple of days ago. At first the posts were displaying no problem, but now they are coming up with ‘not found’ when I click on the summary. I had deleted the ‘Hello World’ post, but I retrieved it. I have refreshed the browser, changed the permalinks, and done everything else I can think of!
