I have an issue with our standard blog template which I think may be caused by Elementor and the Sydney theme conflicting with each other. Each blog page is showing a block in teal which I don’t want on the page as the text is not legible. I cannot see how to change it as the block is not visible on the individual blog page pattern I have created or on the template that exists in Elementor.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as I would like to remove the block entirely as it seems unnecessary.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @user15152603855360,

    Thanks for contacting us.

To disable the breadcrumbs on your blog posts, please go to Sydney > Theme Dashboard and deactivate the Breadcrumbs module. Here’s a screencast for your reference.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks. This is helpful as it explains the cause, but the Breadcrumbs feature seems to be a Pro option which we haven’t upgraded to, so it shouldn’t be active and is not shown as active. I can see that the block appears in some of the standard templates that are within Elementor but there is no way to edit it. If there was a way of changing the colour to the main burgundy colour we use, I think the text would be more legible, but I can’t find any option to change it any of the standard templates.

    Hi @user15152603855360,

    Thanks for the follow-up.

I checked your site again and noticed you have the Yoast SEO plugin. The Sydney free version has built-in support for Yoast breadcrumbs if they are enabled from the Yoast plugin.

Please navigate to your WordPress dashboard, click Yoast SEO > Settings. Select Advanced from the menu, click Breadcrumbs, and toggle the Enable breadcrumbs for your theme switch to the Off position and save the changes. Here’s the Yoast guide.

Please let me know if that helps.

    Hi @snrjosh,

Thanks for this. I have disabled the breadcrumbs within Yoast SEO but this has had no effect.

    Hi @user15152603855360,

    Thanks for the follow-up.

Earlier on, you mentioned, “I  can see that the block appears in some of the standard templates that are within Elementor but there is no way to edit it.” Could you please share a screencast showing where these templates are so I can take a closer look and advise further?

    Hi @snrjosh

Whatever was causing this seems to have resolved itself, as it is looking fine now!
