youre a splog, as far as I am concerned. a small, nice splog, but a splog, just the same. Completely lifting another site’s content, without nary a word of your own commentary is what does it for me. And it wouldnt/doesnt matter if they approved or not.
And do realize that with feeds, and all the social bookmarking sites we have, sites like yours (call them unofficial aggregators, or splogs) serve very little usefulness, ie, I dont need you to pick my news — I can pick my own news.
Ya know?
Thanks Whooami. You are right and most of the readers may have the same view as yours. So what do you think? Is my blog violating the WordPress rules to the extent that my blog will get ‘deleted’?
deleted from where? And what wordpress rules do you think you are violating?
wordpress doesnt tell you what to do with your software.
the ONLY limitation to using wordpress is where you have it hosted.
Must agree with whoo. Unless you’re writing your own material then there really is no point.
When I want to read about physics one of the places I head off to is physorg.com. I don’t go to Bob’s blog to read the stories aggregated from physorg etc. I may go to Bob’s blog if he is offering his own insight to various subjects related to physics.
ya know though ..its amazing some of the sites get traffic though, and “rep” along with it. I saw a site the other day, linked off google news..
blorge.com
now doesnt that just roll of your tongue?? No. I think some guy was looking for something that looked like a word, and was short — and got lucky.
The company I work for is hosting a domain (a very recognizable 5 letter .com domain) and 150+ other smaller domains that just recently was sold for multiple-millions of dollars . I’ve learned a lot since we took over this hosting because it’s (this particular domain) is a “type-in” as opposed to a click-thorough. The site gets like 90-something-% of it’s traffic from type-ins. Hell, I never even knew what a “type-in” was, so few of us have them.
Ok people, i understand the point and will definitely consider the necessary factors that my blog is lacking.
Thanks for your opinions.
Hell, I never even knew what a “type-in” was, so few of us have them.
Heh, I never heard the term until you mentioned it but it sparked my curiousity. I love Mr.Google. (in a platonic sort of way of course)
