    My wp blog http://www.thehomescholar.com/blog has been down since yesterday. The message I got when trying to log on was:
    ____________
    The page isn’t redirecting properly

    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

    I have also determined that I can’t get to the blog from Explorer either.

    I have changed nothing on my cookies and it worked fine earlier. Any suggestions on how to get it fixed? I have asked WP but haven’t heard back from them.

    OK, I know what WP is.. Im trying to figure out what WP you asked? and better, why?

    Is your site somehow working off wordpress.com?

    your site is just another self-hosted blog. whatever WP you are referring to I dont know, but if you have changed nothing, and the site is broke, maybe you need to contact your host.

    I had my blog built using wordpress. When it went down I didn’t know who to ask for help so I sent a similar message to their “report a site bug” link off their homepage (I wasn’t sure if it was just me or a widespread problem.) It appears that is is just me. I am a very new user, so forgive me if I am not understanding the inner workings of wordpress or how to get help.

    If your site is down and you haven’t touched a thing, then it’s likely a hosting issue. Put in a trouble ticket to your web host.

    And so you don’t get run out of here on a rail, it’s a smart thing to try to take command of the tools that you use, learn the vernacular (hanging around in these forums helps; familiarity with the software/application helps also). There’s a lot to learn and if you are a novice to WP, and especially if you are a novice to online life and the Internet in general, use Google to find information. It’s an amazing tool, honestly. If you’ve tried to do your homework ahead of time before hitting these forums with questions, you’ll find that people are generally more willing to help. It’s just human nature.

    homescholar, if you can find your way to your site via FTP, then do so, and delete your .htaccess file.
