blog disappears after sidebar modification

    Hello,

I’m using a modified rin theme for my site http://www.tablechairwall.com and tried to modify the sidebar the other day so that it only displayed certain pages. I was able to do this and remove the name and search function from the header. Everything seemed to be fine, but a day later the site was missing, e.g. just a white screen. I replaced the sidebar.php and header.php with the original versions and now the site is back.

Great, but I would still like to modify the sidebar and header. Does anyone have any general suggestions or experience with this? Thank you in advance for the help.

  • After messing about with my sidebaar.php files to get a particular item to display, I came across Daikos Text Widget plug-in that lets you put php and other code into a widget, which you can then just drag to your sidebar rather than having to edit your sidebar.php file. Perhaps that might work for you?
