blog disappears after sidebar modification

    Hello,

    I’m using a modified rin theme for my site http://www.tablechairwall.com and tried to modify the sidebar the other day so that it only displayed certain pages. I was able to do this and remove the name and search function from the header. Everything seemed to be fine, but a day later the site was missing, e.g. just a white screen. I replaced the sidebar.php and header.php with the original versions and now the site is back.

    Great, but I would still like to modify the sidebar and header. Does anyone have any general suggestions or experience with this? Thank you in advance for the help.

    After messing about with my sidebaar.php files to get a particular item to display, I came across Daikos Text Widget plug-in that lets you put php and other code into a widget, which you can then just drag to your sidebar rather than having to edit your sidebar.php file. Perhaps that might work for you?
