Hello @ssswaney and thanks for reaching out to us!
Are the users seeing a Wordfence branded block page or just a generic 503 or 403?
The Brute Force Protection is designed to work with the standard wp-login/wp-admin pages.
Let me know if this is the case!
Thanks!
The members are getting a Wordfence branded full screen of information, when they try to sign in. It says they are “temporarily locked out”. About 1/3 of the way down the screen there is a link to the home page and when they go back there they can navigate into the members section…so as far as the membership plugin (Simple WP Membership) they are “logged in”.
Not sure what you meant about Brute Force…The “members” are not shown as wp users on the users page just as users in the Membership plugin. This combinations of plugins has worked for years.

I wonder if this is just something cached in the cache plugins on your site. Try purging cache plugins. Since they arent actually getting blocked, that’s what it might be.
If this doesn’t help, can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
Thanks!
Thanks for your reply.
I found a setting that was causing the problem. Apparently the Membership Product tries to do a wp signon. The member user name is not a wp user name so it gives the Temporarily Locked Screen
The setting was “Immediately lock out invalid usernames” in the firewall settings.
I figured from the start that it was a setting…but there are sooooo many of them, half of which I don’t understans!
Seems to be ok now.
Thanks again.
