A payment form on the linked page isn’t completing payments when viewers are referred to it via this MailChimp email.

When a user tries to submit a payment after opening the page from this email, the form just spins and doesn’t actually submit the payment or redirect to a confirmation page.

When the link to the page is sent to a user via Gmail or typed in directly on the site, the payment goes through as expected.

The host is Siteground, the payment form is with Gravity Forms. Nitropack is also installed, though this page and all Gravity Forms and Stripe queries are omitted from the Nitropack cache.

My guess is WordFence might be tracking the referring IP address and sees MailChimp as a threat. So, it loads the page – but WordFence might be disabling the page’s ability to then turn around and connect with the API for Stripe.

I’d love any input you have on this!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @jennielakenan,

Can you check Wordfence -> Tools -> Live Traffic to see if any of the requests are being blocked by Wordfence? If there are any blocked rows, expand one of them to see why Wordfence blocked that request.

Hi Dave, I looked under Tools > Live Traffic and it doesn’t look like there are any requests that have been blocked. “No requests to report yet.” is what’s listed under Blocked and Blocked by Firewall.

What else could be causing this do you think?

    Hi @jennielakenan,

If you do not see any blocks this may not be due to Wordfence. Can you please disable Wordfence and let me know if the issue persists?

    Thanks,

Hey gerroald! We discovered this isn’t actually due to Wordfence. It actually had to do with the referrer link conflicting with Stripe and the caching service on the site. Thanks for your help 🙂

    Hi @jennielakenan,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear you were able to track this down.

Please let us know if anything else comes up.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
