Does advanced blocking not work? I’m trying to block the following and it keeps saying that the first IP has to be less than the second ip:

    108.177.146.000 – 108.177.146.999

There’s a msg in green to the right of the range that says ‘Valid: 1000 addresses in range’

Also, is there a way to immediately block an IP that tries to login with a non-existent username?

Those aren’t valid IP addresses. The numbers should be in the range 0-255. Try the following:

    108.177.146.0 – 108.177.146.255

Unfortunately to block a IP trying to use a non-existing name, you have to copy the IP and paste it either on the Blocked IPs page or the Whois Lookup if you want to block the range of IPs.

    *facepalm*

Thanks for correcting my error. Clearly my days troubleshooting network issues is FAR from my mind!

Also thanks for the tip on blocking a range of IPs via the Whois Lookup. Very helpful.
