    No, for that to actually work they have to block the plugin itself. We’ve heard a couple of reports that Fanboy’s Annoyance List (a filter in AB) does this, but it is hit or miss as far as effectiveness.

    @waltmesser – Having tested the list @waltmesser mentioned above myself, he is correct, it doesn’t seem to block it for most sites, only seen one or 2 that actually had popups blocked by it. I believe their domains though were specifically listed to have PM popups blocked. IE the Fanboy list didn’t block Popup maker popups, only PM popups on a few specific domains. Not sure what that is about.
