Blocked user is from my server?

    Hello – I’m getting email reports about this.

    United States United States
    IP: 162.144.45.150 [unlock]
    Reason: Exceeded the maximum number of login failures which is: 20. The last username they tried to sign in with was: ‘amit-sodha-2-2’
    Hostname: server.unlimitedchoice.org
    Last blocked attempt to sign-in or use the forgot password form was a moment ago.
    3960 attempts have been blocked
    Will be unlocked in 1 min

    The IP address is my server address but naturally – that’s not a username I i’ve ever created or that exists….

    Should I be worried?

    Hi

    *If the ip addresses you see seem to be coming from your server, you need to probably set the “How WordPress gets its IP’s” to the value that best represents your hosting situation. If you are unsure, you can try each one of the options and see which one records ip addresses correctly.

    I’d be proactive but not full on worried at this point.

    Hey Tim,

    It seems to have sorted itself out. I had created that account at some point in the past, so I deleted it and it has since stopped.

    Thanks for the advice – Setting to resolved.
