• I create a website. I’ve installed Wordfence. It was ok. I am the administrator.
I created a second acount for a friend to enter the admin as simple subscriber.
I had to enter by this second acount (the friend gave me all the parameters, like password) but I was blocked – I had well configured wordfence at the beginning.
So I had a message frome wordfence, and I entered my email adress (the one I use for admin), as I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR.
I received this notice online: “We received a request to email “(my email)” instructions to unlock their access. If that is the email address of a site administrator or someone on the Wordfence alert list, they have been emailed instructions on how to regain access to this system. The instructions we sent will expire 30 minutes from now”.”
BUT I have still not received any email from Wordfence! So I can not follow the instructions.
And the 30 minutes are about to end.
Why? And then what can I do (unless wait two or 4 days if I remember the parameters I choosed).
Otherwise, I will go to the FTP. Pffff
More over: My IP is indicated on white list.
Thank you Wordfence to explain why I did not received your instructions, as it is really my adress email of admin.

    Hi @scribelle

Our plugin doesn’t send any emails. WordPress sends our emails as we use the WordPress mail function to send Wordfence related emails.

You can ask your hosting provider if they can see why WordPress is not sending all email.

WordPress not sending all emails is a common problem.

Many people find using an external SMTP email server to be far more reliable than their hosting provider’s email server using a plugin for this.

To forcefully regain access to your site you can use our guide below:

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/blocking/troubleshooting/#forcefully-regain-access-to-your-site

If you have added your IP address to the allowlist then you may not have set up our plugin to detect IP addresses correctly. Our guide for this is below:

    Hi @wfphil
Thank you for your answer. That’s it. I understand. I’ve never received an email anyway.
I ‘ve connected again by disabling the plugin via FTP. All is clear now. And by the way, I was about to install the plugin WP Mail SMTP in order to manage newsletter in a while.
And for the case of setting up WF plugin about my IP address, I’ will have a look.
Thanks again – and for the links.
    Have a nice week-end.
