What happens if you try to download 1.5.1 instead? There was a bug in 1.5 but 1.5.1 haven’t been pushed out yet. You can download it from here:

Which plugins are you using? There might be a conflict between the theme and a plugin. I know there’s a conflict between the theme and Widgets Reloaded but I don’t know about anyone else.

I have deactivated all plugins with no change. The only ones that were activated were Paypal, All in One event Calendar, One click child theme.
Interestingly I have since discovered that the only themes that work are ones that were already downloaded & present prior to my WP 3.5 upgrade. Any theme downloaded after that isn’t activating, not even Twenty-Twelve.
Makes me think something is up with the WP upgrade.
Yes, try re-installing WordPress (you can do that from Dashboard > Updates if you didn’t know)
Thanks. I just did that. Did not work. My next step is to email my hosting provider to see if there is something on the back end that is not working. Unless you can think of another idea.

No it never worked. In fact no new themes would work after the upgrade. I gave up.
That’s strange. I see you’ve created a new topic in the “How-To and Troubleshooting” forum – would it be okay if I mark this topic as “resolved”?
I tried getting help from other forums but no go. Feel free to mark it how you wish although it’s not really resolved but I suppose you have to do that for the forum’s sake. I’m switching over to Blogger.
