Blank Static Page over Gallery | WordPress.org

I’d like a front page with just the gallery and sidebars, but WP puts the content of a page in gray on top. I’ve created a blank static page, but that puts a gray bar up for content. How can I make this go away or be blank? Thanks

Can you please show that page which has that gray rectangle so I can try to help with some CSS code?

Perhaps gray bar is a bad description. It is a gray-black rectangle that comes from it trying to display a page which has no text. It’s behind the gallery captions (Mike, Books, MAD) but on top of the pictures themselves. I can click the minus sign to the right and hide it, but I would like it hidden all of the time.
