I had to restore my site from the most recent backup.
After restoring and the success message of the plugin, I clicked the close button in the progress/success message modal.
The entire site went blank. White screen, no error messages.
Almost accidentally I got the idea to call mydomain.com/wp-admin/ which let me access the admin area. What a relief after the initial shock.
Turned out that at least a dozen of plugins were disabled, including Oxygen Builder, MetaBox, Gravity Forms and more, which probably led to the blank screen issue.
After enabling all plugins my site was back.
But holy shit, what a shock. Nobody needs this.
Going to delete the plugin and pick something else.

Edit: The backup restore worked fine on a temporary staging site, and the dev team was responsive with their support, even offered to investigate the specific issue on my site for free.
I won’t take advantage of the offer because I moved on already and replaced the plugin.

That is unusual. Could you please give us a chance to fix it @picturebreeze? Would it be possible for you to restore it on another site, e.g., on https://tastewp.com, and let us know if it works there? Please allow us to get to the bottom of this. Thank you!

Well, the restore worked on a new WP setup at tastewp.com. After closing the plugin modal it took me to the frontend homepage. But when I tried to go back to the admin area I got this message: This site has been suspended by our security solution”.
I have screenshots and a video recording if this would help you.

What’s the URL of the site?

The temp site at tastewp.com? https://formulategrape.s6-tastewp.com

Yes. Ok, it should be accessible again, please try now.

While you check the TasteWP site, the developers already shared this information:

It appears that the restore process completed successfully, but the plugin activation step failed. After a successful restore, our plugin attempts to reactivate all plugins that were active when the backup was created. If an error occurs while activating a plugin, the plugin is skipped to prevent potential fatal errors. This acts as a protection layer designed to keep the site accessible. In some cases, this can make the admin area inaccessible, so then the plugins need to be reactivated one by one. We’re working on improving this.

One potential reason for failed plugin activation could be different PHP or WP versions. Could that explain it?

No, I didn’t switch PHP versions or updated WP.
Anyway, it worked on the temp staging site, but that doesn’t erase the impression I had on my site. Thanks for chiming though.

Ok, could you please update the review accordingly? If it worked on the staging site, then there must be something on the server which is outside of our plugin’s control (although we’re also happy to look into those issues for free).
