Blank Page on localhost/wordpress/wp-admin login attempt
-
I’m building a site in WordPress installed on WAMP server on my local machine at home. The site is not live online.
Yesterday I logged on and updated a number of the plugins that I have installed and then worked on the site VIA the admin/dashboard area for about four hours the same day with no problems.
I can access the site through “localhost/wordpress,” and it looks and works just fine. However, when I try to access the admin area using “localhost/wordpress/wp-admin,” so I can work on the site, I get a blank page.
I’ve read and tried just about everything I can find, and nothing works. I’ve removed the plugin directory then tried to log on, and when I do, I get this in a blank browser window on login attempt:
————————————
“W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\advanced-cache.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\object-cache.php.”
————————————-I’ve removed those files and still can’t log in. I’ve also removed the W3 Total Cache directory and can’t log in. I downloaded and extracted the latest zip file for W3 Total Cache and replace the old directory with the new one and still can’t log in. Also, other than doing what I just described, I don’t know how to “re-install” the plugin without having access to the Dashboard area.
Since I had no problem logging in and working on the site before the plugin updates and could not login after shutting down after the updates, I’m assuming it has something to do with the updates, but I have no idea what it could be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
