Blank page on install | WordPress.org

So I have downloaded and FTP’d all the wordpress files into my folder. Went to the wp-admin/setup-config.php and got a blank page after editing the config.php with all my login information.

I’ve deleted everything, re downloaded from wordpress.org, and reuploaded it.

Still nothing.

I went and read a few posts but didnt find anything helpful. Anyone have any ideas, as they would be GREATLY appreciated.

wp-admin/setup-config.php

You don’t touch setup-config.php. Check out http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

I meant the wp-config.php that you enter your database, mySQL login and pass etc. Sorry for bad explaination on my part.

So what happened after
==> Run the WordPress installation script by accessing http://yoursiteURL.com/wp-admin/install.php in a web browser. ?

I just get a blank page. Everything is in the correct folder, I updated WP, did every possible thing I can think of.

– access server with FTP or cPanel and find .htaccess in folder where you installed WP
– copy .htaccess file to your computer hard drive for backup (in case it has info for other stuff)
– delete that .htaccess file in server
– and re-run the WordPress installation script via http://yoursiteURL.com/wp-admin/install.php
