• I am attempting to move my wordpress blog from one server to another. I backed up and moved the MySQL DB. I copied the entire directory over.

Now, when I go to the blog page on the new server all I get is a blank page. No HTML content at all. A 0 byte file. No error codes, nothing. However, I can access the wp-admin page fine and it actually seems to be working. What’s the deal?

  • Anything in your error logs?

You mean apache error log? No, nothing in it. It’s so wierd, the control panel works totally fine and I see all my posts in there. But go the blog itself and I get nothing.

Thanks for all the support (not.) Esmi, at least you chimed in so I give you some credit.

Anyways, for those of you on the edge of their seats, here’s what it was. I am posting this for others who may run into this. When I copied the folder over using SCP apparently the permissions stopped me from copying everything. So it copied some of the the theme folders but apparently missed the one I was actually using. With a missing theme, wordpress apparently will give you no error or no help as to what is going wrong, it simply would display nothing. So I hope that helps someone else out there if you run into this situation.
