I may be running wordpress 3.5.1, but not sure as I can’t access my website to see.

Someone please help me! I cannot gain access to my websites admin page.

http://www.weatherwebb.co.uk/wp-admin just brings up a blank white screen.

http://www.weatherwebb.co.uk/wp-login.php brings up the log in screen, but as soon as I login it goes white and if I refresh it just brings the login screen back.

I think I updated a plugin when I noticed it not working (about 2am GMT Thursday). I can still post from my phone luckily, but I have no other way of updating my site.

I’m not great at WordPress so please reply in simple terms 😛

    Thanks
    Sally

  • You’ll need to use FTP to deactivate your plugins to see if that IS the problem – rename the plugins folder:

    wordpress
        wp-content
            pluginsHOLD

If you don’t have FTP or Cpanel access set up, ask your hosting company for help with that.

Ok I have changed the plugins folder to pluginsHOLD and I can now access my admin perfectly fine!

Thank you! What should I do now, so that the plugins continue to work, but I don’t lose access to my admin again?

    😀

Change pluginsHOLD back to plugins. Then re-activate your plugins one at a time. At some point, you will lose admin access again but now you will know which plugin is the problem one (ie the last one you re-activated). Using FTP again, delete this plugin’s folder inside wp-content/plugins.

Found it 😀 Thank you sooo much. Stupid Facebook box thingy!

I can now be calm again and continue forecasting the sunny weather.

    Thanks again!!
