• Hi,

I tried to migrate to https on the page mentioned above. I did a complete backup (copying the entire folder with filezilla) and started with posting the following line into the wp-config.php:
    “define(‘FORCE_SSL_ADMIN’, true);”
I saved the file and tried to log in – the /wp-admin was a blank page.
    I deleted that line.
I repalced every .php file with the original one from my backup
I changed the folder names for plugins and themes

Nothing helped, I can’t get anything else then a blank page for the wp-admin.
Tried to get there with http and https…

I’m close to despair because I really don’t get what else I could have messed up and not fixed by trying what I did.. just wanted to fix a cURL 28 connection time out and start with migrating to https.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello, did you try to enable debug ?
Did you check your server logs?
Can you try to login using this one ? https://www.motorworld-bulletin.de/wp-login.php

I tried enable debug, also with the log file enabled, I don’t get anything.
I can use the link you provided and log in, I see the login page but as soon as I am logged in I get the blank page.
I haven’t checked server logs, have to google that. coming back to you!

ok, I have no access to the server logs right now, gonna try that again tomorrow. Any other idea what it could be or what I could try?

Ok i don’t think you can find something at this point anyway to the logs but may worth the try. Did you use any plugins for SSL ? Did you edit anything on your DB ? Did you edit your .htaccess ?

No, I really just posted that one line, tried to log in and got the blank page.
First thing I tried was to delete that line, second was to replace the file with the one from the backup. In my idea that should have changed everything back to the way it was before the problem but apparently there is something more to it..

Can you recheck your wp-config.php for any stray lines and spaces you left after your last edit? Do you have any cache plugins or server-side cache system?

I couldn’t find any and since I uploaded the wp-config.php from the backup it shouldn’t be a problem – I had no issues 30 minutes before when I made the backup.
I don’t have any cache plugins or cache systems on the server side I know of – can check that tomorrow with the hosting company

Since it is broke right now why not try manually reloading just WordPress itself from a know good copy?

    Look at section 1.4…
