There are black boxes on the areas: Upcoming, Search, and Grid. I am not sure why this happened.

Also, is there a way to change the button and accent colors for feature and sticky events?

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

Thanks for getting in touch, I’m happy to help you today.

You can use WordPress Customizer to get your desired colorway. You can find out more about it here https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/wordpress-customizer-2/

I visited your site, and did notice the black block of text. You can adjust the color settings using the Theme Customizer I mentioned above.

Some themes hide the admin Toolbar by default. If you can’t locate the Toolbar or the “Customize” link within it, you may find it easiest to just head to your site’s wp-admin and to the Appearance → Customize screen.

I hope that helps answer your question. If you have follow-up questions regarding this topic, please let us know, and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Thank you. I was able to customize some of the settings, but not those black blocks. They still remain, even after I thought I changed them. They have always been there since I first installed the plugin. The video also does not address this particular setting and it seems like a default. Where is the customization to change the black boxes located? It looks very odd.

Also, is Eventbrite linking only available in the Pro version? As a nonprofit, we requested it. Thank you again.

Also, I am trying to get the Featured text to be a different color to stand out from the rest… I don’t see the particular customization for that single item, either…

    Hi there,

It looks like your theme is adding CSS to force a black background on all button elements using !important. Semantically, buttons are used for for any item that a user would click to interact with, and these things are often not meant to appear with “button styles”.

You will need to find where your theme is adding this CSS, and either remove or override it. You might reach out to the developers of the theme you are are using for advice on how to best achieve this.
