    how do I change the background color and the header to a different graphic file I have. The bg color I mean is not the bg in the content area but outside of that. Thanks!

    You’ll need to open your style.css of the current theme
    Look for the “body” selector and change color to the hex code you choose

    Changing the header image is slightly harder without seeing the site
