Migrating from WordPress.com to self-hosted

I am beyond lost. I started a blog with wordpress then bought hosting at hostgator. I have NO IDEA how to connect them and most of the things I read, I have NO IDEA what they mean when I try to find how to make this work……….. my wordpress site is http://www.mommarrific.wordpress.com and all I want it to do is point to mommarrific.com……….. PLEASE HELP ME in a language that I understand and I am hoping not to hear that I have to spend a bucket load of cash. I need this to be $0…….. Thank you in advance for any angles out there who just like to help……
