Beware Hardcoded paths

    The galleries are very pretty, but from a dev standpoint, Nextgen has issues. We recently built a site and migrated from test to a live server. After the move, the galleries weren’t working. [not valid template] shows. Dig in the database. Dig through the forums. Lots of users with the same problem. Our fix – visit each post with a gallery, open the gallery, go to Customize Display Options and remove the hardcoded path to the test environment. Ick. Not recommended for sites unless it’s a vanilla blog.

    @melriks – did you contact us about this? I’m wondering if you had tried the ‘reset options’ tool under Gallery > Other Options > Reset Tool. This generally does the trick after moving your site. When something like this happens we prefer that users contact us so we can help, rather than post a review with a complaint that could be resolved.
