Best practices for custom content tyes

    Hi guys,

    I’m getting into theme development and I can’t decide what would be the best practices and approaches for different types of contents.

    I uploaded 2 mockups for those of you who want to get a better picture of what I’m talking about:
    Home
    About

    I was wondering what I should use to create the different areas of the pages. Which should be widgets, which should be custom post types or for which of the content types should I create custom meta boxes on their respective pages in back-end.

    Hope you can shed some light on this.
