    …I want to ask: how come, after upgrading, the Frontpage layout for Contained-boxed widgets changed from having each of the three widgets separated to having them all merged together?

    Can you please share the link to your site so that we can have a better understanding to your issue ?
    Also it will be better if you can share the following details :
    1. Responsive Theme version before the update
    2. Responsive Theme version after the update
    3. Screenshots of the changed area (before/after)
