BBPress forum widh

I use a page called “Forum” to bring up the forum index using [bbp-forum-index] on the page. This fills up the first column but not the sidepanel column. However when I click on the one of the forums in the index it brings up a list of topics within that forum. However it does not have same width as the Forum Index as it runs across the page into the side panel. How do I make it the same width (one column} as the forum index? Thanks.
