I see from another topic that a hack is needed so that effects other than ‘fade’ take effect, but can someone list what the valid settings for cycle_effect are in the free edition, please?

@swoolrich – The values shown in the drop-down of the Basic Slideshow effect option under Gallery > Gallery Settings are the ones used for the other effects available.

    Thanks!

I’ve edited the code in the page and it seems to always fade?

@swoolrich – Although we do not provide support for customizations or modifications to our code it may help to provide your snippet for reference.

    Thanks!

Changed from fade to wipe. All I did was edit ‘cycle_effect’. When I go to edit the actual gallery it doesn’t offer an ‘effect’ dropdown. In the settings it’s shown as ‘scrollDown’.

    [ngg_images source="galleries" container_ids="1" display_type="photocrati-nextgen_basic_slideshow" gallery_width="450" gallery_height="300" cycle_effect="wipe" cycle_interval="4" show_thumbnail_link="0" thumbnail_link_text="[Show thumbnails]" order_by="sortorder" order_direction="ASC" returns="included" maximum_entity_count="500"]

    It didn’t work!

@swoolrich – Hmm … i was a bit surprised that the change you made appeared to work originally as I had not been able to do so myself. We are still looking at this issue although, in general, given that you are noting there is no “drop-down” may point to another or more complex issue at hand.

    Thanks!
