I just need to understand the basic settings. I’ve been using the plugin for awhile – but don’t understand how it works.

    1. I think I’m using the default settings b/c I don’t have any checkmarks in the basic settings. Can you tell me if that is what would be expected? It says I have 89.92 MB total savings if that tells you anything. But I’m wondering if I need to check the Lossy JPG Opt.?

    2. Secondly, will this plugin keep browsers from resizing images when people load the site?

    TIA

    1. not necessarily. The one that is generally expected by page testing sites is the remove metadata option. If you want to go above and beyond that, you use the lossy options.

    2. Not sure what you mean, but probably not. If your theme (or another plugin) is inserting images in the page with dimensions different than the actual image being displayed, it will still get resized and be a negative item listed on the speed testing sites. There are a variety of ways to address them, but one plugin I’ve seen that seems like it works pretty well is called Hammy.
