• We had someone make a site for us, so although I’m very familiar with the layout of WordPress under the hood, I don’t actually know what I’m doing.

We currently have a one page site. The creator made all the txt on the site a “post.” We now want a second page, exact duplicate, but in a different language for which we have a translator.

My question is, how do I make this exact duplicate so that I can just change the text? I tried a second “post” but that just ads a second post to the main page. In essence, how do I make one post go to one page, while a second post land on another page?

  • What you could do is copy the text from the first post into a page and call it home or whatever you want– This is the title of your page.

Next go to Settings > Reading
Make your new page the home page by selecting a static page as the home page.

Now you should have a home page that is a post. If that works, delete the post.

Then you can make your new page in the new language and it should appear in the navigation as a new tab.
