basic blog setup

I am somewhat new to wordpress and am having some trouble setting up the accelerate theme (free version) to act as a blog. You can find the site in its current state at lordoflaughs.com. I’ve followed the theme instructions but still cannot accomplish what I’m trying to do. If someone can help me to do the following, I’d appreciate it:

1) How can I move the top nav to above the header image?
2) What are the steps necessary to add a blog link to the main navigation and have the most recent post pushed to the home page?
3) how do I then add the three photo/link section below (or above) the most recent post on the home page?

If anyone can give me some clues how this is done I’d be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.
