banner issue

I have a plugin called layerslider which was set up by the people who themed our site.

If I have no featured image on the homepage I get a banner over the main slider which I don’t want. I cant deactivate the slider that’s on top as I need that to be used on other pages.

How would I go about removing the banner that’s on top?
