I have searched through previous threads and can not find any reference as to how to place text over the banner image. I have used image editor in every way possible, perhaps there is an incorrect setting in Banner widget, or is CSS / html the only answer! I have searched for new suitable plugins, but cant find any. Thanks in advance for any advice.

We don’t have dynamic banner settings in the current theme since it is a whole header image. if you want to make custom changes you may use different sliders or plugins even with the page builder.
For instance you may refer Visual Composer for banner

Many thanks for info, I have gone with a slider plugin option and reduced header image so have it sorted. Love this theme.
