Banned Ip address – PHPMYADMIN is blank

    Hi all, I need help. When I log in with my admin account i get this message:

    ERROR: Login failed because your IP address has been blocked. Please contact the administrator.

    phpMYadmin shows this table as empty
    SELECT * FROM zexnb_aiowps_permanent_block

    I have also done a password reset. I can not work out whats going on.

    Banned IPs could be done with .htaccess, so I would first try to inspect the .htaccess. Also check all the security plugins in use, it could still keep the blocked ips in database and keep regenerating the .htaccess

    Thanks Paul, I dont know if i can get into my Plugins as its the main Admin account that is locked out. I am also not sure where to look in the .htaccess file. It’s also very strange because it’s not a static IP address in use and i have tried this in several locations. I am not sure if it’s the account itself that is locked?

    Are you using any security plugins? If so, try disabling them. (Pro tip: When installing any security plugin, be sure to whitelist at least of of the IPs you usually use. )

    I have 3 plug ins. These all used to work.

    – Akismet
    – All in one security and firewall
    – Si Captcha for worpress

    I am quite new to editing php files etc, so I am not sure how to disable these without being able tot log in.

    Via FTP, try renaming the AIO plugin’s directory in wp-content/plugins That will disable it.
