Hi pasicci,
Sorry that you are having trouble with the plugin. I was very surprised to see you say that support is ignoring you, so I had a look in the forums and checked with our email support team. You just created this wordpress.org account and this is the first post you’ve made with it. Also, we have no support emails from anything pasicci. So, unfortunately, I can’t find any requests you might be referring to that were ignored.
We pride ourselves on offering great support, and I would find it very hard to believe that any support requests we received would just be ignored. If you posted under a different username, could you please send us a link to the post you created? And, if you emailed us, could you please let us know what email address was used, so we can double check that?
When it comes to a slow site, there could be many factors. Did it just get slow all of a sudden? Did it used to load quickly? Was it after a specific update to our plugin? Was it after you made an update to something else on your site (e.g. another plugin or your theme)?
In general, with our catalog, if you start to experience slower load times, there are few things you can take a look at to try and help with that:
First, make sure the “Product Search” option (in the “Basic” area of the “Options” tab) isn’t set to “Name, Description and Custom Fields”. The custom fields part adds a lot of queries, which has the potential to slow it down. Try any of the other options.
Also, try removing two of the three layouts. For example: [product-catalogue id=”X” excluded_layouts=”Detail,List” starting_layout=”Thumbnail”]. This will cut the amount of queries by two-thirds.
You can also try enabling “Thumbnail Support” (in the “Basic” area of the “Options” tab).
You can also try setting a lower number of “Products per Page” (in the “Premium” area of the “Options” tab).
There is also the possibility that your server doesn’t process the database queries quickly, which wouldn’t help with the catalogue performance.
