  • You’ll need to be able to FTP into your web server to reset your plugins directory.

Take a look at this: https://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Troubleshooting

    Hi there,

Used Filezilla to try and access the site. It either times me out or says my password authentication failed. Can’t access the site even through Filezilla :/

FTP access through some hosts are not as straight forward as it should be. You should be able to access a file manager through your hosting cPanel where you can delete the problem plugin’s folder.

It’d be a good idea to ensure you have FTP access for the future. Getting it working may be as simple as adding a FTP user through cPanel. If you still have problems with FTP, take the issue up with your host.
