The actual live site is: https://www.rabbishefagold.com/ (which obviously is a functional site).

This is my second attempt to create a clone of a WordPress site… which has failed! When I tried yesterday, I thought it may be pilot error. I deleted the clone rather quickly (even tho’ it used a token). I was careful today, but the same thing happened: the link to the site shows a blank screen. I can get into the backend, but there are no plugins installed (except Askimet and Hello whatever and an Updraft Plus), which is problematic because of plugin functionalities. The theme used for this site is missing, the child theme for the site is missing. Some images are missing… so basically it’s unusable.

I’ll leave it ‘live’ just in case you can figure out what the problem is. It’ll automatically disappear in less than 24 hours because of using the final token in my account. I won’t be buying any more tokens in a misguided attempt to get a working clone.

I wanted this clone to test upgrading to 7.0.2 and to test your Optimize plugin, but I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that the backup I generated the other day isn’t as screwed up as the clone if I have to use the backup.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I just checked and the site now shows text content with theme Twenty Twenty-Five, which (of course) is incorrect for this site. Because the plugins got lost in the clone process, content is missing. Also, on a quick glance through the site, there are no images showing. Basically, the clone is unusable for the purpose of upgrading WP and checking out your optimize function.

    Hi,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had this experience.

From your post, it looks like you’re using UpdraftClone, which is a Premium product. If that’s the case, could you please open a support ticket through our Premium support form instead of the WordPress.org forums? Premium support isn’t provided via the WordPress.org forum, and we’ll be able to investigate your clone in much more detail there.

We’ll be happy to investigate this further.

    Kind regards,
    Bryle

Umm… If a ‘real’ clone is only done as a Premium feature, then that might be why I got 2 bad clones.

UpdraftClone, as far as I can tell, is NOT a Premium product. One buys tokens to do the clone, but cloning is available with the free version of UpdraftPlus. So, if, by chance, it is a Premium product, you’ll need to rewrite your content online.

I will submit my problem to ‘premium’ support on the off chance that someone will look into this… tho’ the clone will have probably disappeared.

    Hi,

Thank you for submitting a Premium support ticket.

We’ve received it successfully and will continue the investigation there.

I’ll close this WordPress.org thread for now, and we’ll keep you updated via your Premium support ticket.

    Kind regards,
    Bryle
