    Hello.

    Beginner here.

Where did my site go? I did the back up and the WordPress update and tried to restore but now it is only default pages, saying ready to upload the site. What happened? What did I do wrong? I’m devastated, a month of work, all gone. Thanks for your time.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @hollysdayz,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. To better understand what happened, could you please provide a few more details?

    • What exact steps did you take when performing the backup and restore?
    • Did you see any error messages during the restore process?
    • Could you share a screenshot of what you see on your website now?

Once we have more information, we’ll do our best to guide you through resolving this.

    Kind regards,
    Bryle

    Hello

YESTERDAY I did not see any error messages. I did a backup to FTP. Updated WordPress then tried to restore. I could see my pages and post on the dashboard and in edit. All were published but none showed up on the front end. Every page was Hostinger’s default bicycle rider saying ready to migrate or build. I could not access my Neve theme dashboard; it looked like it wants to load but never did. This is crazy, the one time I use a plugin for backup…. usually I keep sites backed up by copying pages to a duplicate site on the free .org and update WordPress with no issues.

TODAY I can’t even log in. Currently this is all I see on the front end Default page no matter how many times I try to get to the dashboard, I get an cookies error.

    Thanks for your time

That’s wonderful to hear—thanks for the update!
Glad Hostinger was able to recover everything. If you have any questions or need help with backups in the future, feel free to reach out.

    Best wishes,
    Bryle
