I’ve been using backup buddy for a couple years, and it’s always worked fairly well, but the pricing is a bit steep. I’m checking other plugins to try to keep it automated.
I downloaded complete central backup plugin, but that downloads an .sql file that was about 100MB, and with BUB a full back up is 620MB.
did I download the entire site? or just parts? it doesn’t really say…
then I downloaded updraft plus plugin, and it downloads the database (i think) but an error msg comes up that says
Download failed. File /home1/romanceu/public_html/wp-content/updraft/backup_2012-12-09-0809_Romance_University_49348a430806-db.gz did not exist or was unreadable. If you delete local backups then S3 or Google Drive or FTP retrieval may have failed. (Note that Google Drive downloading is not yet supported – you need to download manually if you use Google Drive).0
but then the files go to my FTP server…in different parts. uploads, themes and plugins, all in zip files…not a .gz like was listed above. And I don’t think I can restore the site from what I have backed up here…
is there a good plugin that will create backups of database and uploads etc on a schedule? this is driving me bonkers.
