    I have uploaded a photo to use as my background image. When I see it on the background page (under appearance) it is small and the way I want it. However when I see it on the site, it is much larger.

    For example on the background page I have selected for the image to be horizontal and there are 10 of the images across the top of the page. I save that setting and go to the site to see how it looks and there are less than three across the top of the page because the image is much larger.

    What is causing the image to be larger on the site than it is on the background page?

    The Appearance->Background page uses a thumbnail to create a facsimile of the final site background. It is not intended to reproduce the site background to scale. Try uploading a much smaller image.
