    Hello,

    Since the latest update of Google for WooCommerce, our backend has become noticeably slower. We’ve profiled the performance and identified two files that seem to be causing significant delays:

    • src/Google/Protobuf/Internal/CodedInputStream.php — execution takes around 3 seconds
    • src/Google/Protobuf/Internal/Message.php — execution takes nearly 2 seconds

    These delays are affecting the overall speed of the WooCommerce admin and make managing the store quite difficult. Could you please investigate this issue or provide guidance on how to mitigate the slowdown?

    Thank you in advance for your support.

    Best regards,

    Hi there,

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I tried to replicate the issue on two different sites, but everything is working fine on my end. This suggests that there may be something specific to your site environment that’s contributing to the slowdown.

    To assist you further, could you please share the System Status Report (found under WooCommerce → Status → Get system report).

    Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.

    Sure,

    I was able to reproduce the problem on stage, that is hosted on another server.

    Below are the methods that take longer to complete:

    Google\Protobuf\Internal\CodedInputStream->readVarint64  - 2.3 seconds
    GoogleListingsAndAds\Vendor\GuzzleHttp\Handler\CurlMultiHandler->tick 1.4 seconds

    On stage I’ve tested only with Google for WooCommerce, Code Profiler Pro, and WooCommerce active and the problem still reproduces

    Hi @l94l,

    Thank you for following up and sharing your observations. I reviewed the report you provided, but it looks incomplete. Could you please go to WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support, then paste the full report into pastebin.com or gist.github.com and share the link? Some of the key details we need—like plugin settings, theme, cron, etc.—are missing from what you shared.

    I also tested the admin side on my own setup, and the dashboard loaded normally. To better understand the slowness you’re experiencing, could you record a short video of your site’s admin area using Loom, reload your admin and share it with us? That way we can clearly see the delay you’re referring to.

    Hi there!

    Thank you for sharing the system status report. Everything looks fine in this report. To assist you further, could you please create a short video showing the exact issue?

    I would also suggest deactivating the Code Profiler Pro plugin on your staging site and keeping only WooCommerce and Google for WooCommerce active before recording the video.

    For the video, you may use https://loom.com.
