    Hey guys,

it is very ashaming that I obviously have destroyed parts of my WPbackend. I am sitting here since several hours googleing, searching in forum but I can´t get this problem solved. Hopefully u can give me the hint which helps me with that.

    Problem description:
If I want to log into my backend, the normal login window is not loading but this text:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /mnt/web8/d2/17/53609217/htdocs/wp-includes/post-template.php:1) in /mnt/web8/d2/17/53609217/htdocs/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 876

I already tried this “Header already sent” Troubleshooting but I can´t fix that problem.

    What I´ve done so far:
I checked if my backup post-template.php solves the problem but it doesn´t as well as the original wordpress post-template.php. If I change the files, different error messages appear.

I would really appreciate your help, guys!

5 minutes after my post, I found an older version of my post-template file on my desktop….not expecting it to work, but it does!

That´s why you can delete/close this post!

Never, ever, edit WordPress core scripts. And do not encourage others to do so. Editing core scripts can bring down your entire site and/or open security holes for hackers to use.

In principle you are completely right! It was not my intention to encourage anybody to do so. But what about details I have to change, which is only possible by doing so? (It was about changing the appearance of a password protected page. Couldn´t find a plugin which fullfilles my needs).

What are you trying to change on a password-protected page?

I am trying to change the appearance of the password protected page.
So far I installed a plugin which allows me to protect a single page with multiple passwords. The design of the “password” page and of the following page doesn´t fullfill my needs. I want to delete the page title, which says: Protected: Downloads. Secondary I want the placeholder in the password box immediately as the client is placing the cursor into the box. Up to now I couldn´t find a solution for that. But I will try to change the plugin-files, perhaps I am successfull with this strategy.
