Back end/ Dashboard changed appearance. Now unworkable

Hi. I’m a new user of WordPress.
Things were going fine, then without notice the back end changed around and now we can’t use it. The tabs that were neat and in a dropdown menu on the side are too hard to read and find where everything is.

Any ideas on how to get it back the way it was?
