Awful theme. Cannot replicate promo image

I downloaded this theme as the image in the description was exactly what I was looking for.
However, in the theme I found the following issues…

1. Cannot create a homepage slider. No instructions and slide setup did not turn on the function. I used the supplied images and it still will not work.

2. There is no instruction on how to make the menu transparent, as it is in the promo image. I could not find any setting to achieve this.

3. There is a lot of “Homepage Areas” to insert widgets but when I put different widgets into them there was no change anywhere.

4. I created a home page and turned on the “Active widget Area” in the homepage setup tab but nothing happened.

There is no supporting documentation for this theme and when I emailed thedevelopers (Hoosoft.com) I got no response.
